About the Test:
DOG-1 (Discovered on GIST-1) is an immunohistochemical marker used primarily in the evaluation of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). It helps identify GISTs, particularly in cases where other markers such as KIT (CD117) may be negative or equivocal.

Clinical Indications:

• Suspected gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST)
• Characterization of mesenchymal gastrointestinal tumors
• Differentiation of GIST from other spindle-cell or epithelioid tumors
• Complementary testing when CD117 results are inconclusive

Interpretation:
DOG-1 positivity supports the diagnosis of GIST when interpreted together with morphology and other IHC markers. Results should be correlated with clinical findings and the complete histopathological/IHC panel.
