Test Name: Camp – Lambda by Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

What is this test?
Lambda by IHC is an immunohistochemical stain used on tissue biopsy samples to detect lambda immunoglobulin light chain expression. It helps pathologists identify B-cell and plasma cell populations and determine whether they are monoclonal (suggestive of malignancy) or polyclonal (usually benign).

Why is this test done?

• Helps diagnose plasma cell disorders (e.g., multiple myeloma, plasmacytoma)
• Supports the diagnosis of B-cell lymphomas
• Evaluates light chain restriction in tissue specimens
