Test Name: Dengue Profile (IgG, IgM, NS1), Rapid Card, Serum

Purpose:
A rapid blood test used to detect evidence of dengue infection by identifying:

• NS1 Antigen: Helps detect dengue infection during the early phase, usually from the first few days of illness.
• IgM Antibody: Indicates a recent or current dengue infection.
• IgG Antibody: May indicate a past infection or, depending on timing and clinical context, a later-stage/recent infection.

Method: Rapid Immunochromatographic Card Test

When is it advised?

• Fever with suspected dengue infection
• Headache and body aches
• Pain behind the eyes
• Nausea or vomiting
• Skin rash
• Low platelet count or other clinical suspicion of dengue

Interpretation:
Results should be interpreted along with the day of illness, symptoms, examination findings, and other laboratory results. A negative result does not always rule out dengue, particularly when testing is performed very early or late in the illness.
