D240 by IHC
Test Name: D240 by Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
What is D240 by IHC?
D240 is an immunohistochemical (IHC) marker that detects podoplanin, a protein commonly expressed on lymphatic endothelial cells. It is primarily used to identify lymphatic vessels in tissue sections and can assist pathologists in evaluating lymphatic involvement in tumors.
Clinical Applications:
- Identification of lymphatic vessels in tissue specimens
- Assessment of lymphatic invasion by tumors
- Support in the evaluation of tumor spread and metastasis
- Differentiation of lymphatic vessels from blood vessels
- Used as part of an IHC panel along with other relevant markers
Sample: Tissue / biopsy specimen
Method: Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Report: Interpretation by a qualified pathologist
Important: D240 IHC results should be interpreted along with histopathology findings and other relevant clinical and immunohistochemical markers.
