Test Overview
This test detects aerobic bacteria that may be causing an ear infection. The isolated organism is identified using an automated VITEK system, followed by antimicrobial susceptibility testing to determine which antibiotics are likely to be effective.

Why is this test done?

• To identify bacteria responsible for ear infections
