🧪 Test Overview
This test is performed on Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) to detect and identify aerobic bacterial pathogens that may be associated with infections of the central nervous system. Conventional culture methods are used for initial bacterial identification, followed by automated antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) on Vitek.

The test may be advised when bacterial infection of the central nervous system is clinically suspected, particularly in cases requiring microbiological confirmation and antibiotic selection.
