🧪 Test Overview

This test is used to detect and identify aerobic bacteria present in body fluid specimens and determine which antibiotics are likely to be effective against the identified organism.

🔬 Method

• Culture: Conventional aerobic bacterial culture
• Identification: Conventional biochemical/microbiological identification
• Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST): Automated testing using VITEK
• Specimen: Appropriate body fluids such as synovial, pleural, peritoneal, or other clinically relevant sterile fluids

The test can help identify clinically significant aerobic bacterial pathogens and determine their antimicrobial susceptibility pattern.
