🧪 Test Overview

Sputum culture is a microbiological test used to detect and identify aerobic bacteria that may be causing a respiratory tract infection. The isolated organism is identified using conventional laboratory methods, followed by Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) to determine which antibiotics are likely to be effective.
