The Ear Swab Culture & Sensitivity (C&S) test is performed to identify aerobic bacteria causing infections of the external or middle ear. The collected ear swab specimen is cultured in the laboratory, and any bacterial growth is identified using conventional microbiological methods. Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing (AST) is then performed to determine the most effective antibiotics for treatment.
