Clinical Indication:
Evaluation of large tissue specimens for diagnosis of benign or malignant pathology, inflammatory conditions, structural abnormalities, or tumor characterization.

Procedure Description:
The specimen is received in formalin, carefully oriented and measured. Representative sections are taken from all relevant areas of the XX extra large specimen. Tissue is processed, embedded in paraffin blocks, sectioned, and stained for microscopic examination.

Gross Examination Includes:

• Size, weight, and external surface assessment
• Cut surface evaluation
• Identification of lesion areas (if present)
• Margin and depth assessment

Microscopic Examination Includes:

• Cellular architecture evaluation
• Presence of inflammation, necrosis, or fibrosis
• Tumor grading (if applicable)
• Margin involvement status

Report Includes:

• Final histopathological diagnosis
• Tumor type and grade (if applicable)
• Margin status
• Additional pathological comments

Turnaround Time: 24–72 hours (depending on complexity)
Sample Requirement: Fresh tissue in 10% neutral buffered formalin
Storage Conditions: Room temperature, formalin-fixed
